Meryl Michele Hutson (Long), age 69, went to be with Jesus on October 19, 2024. She was born on November 16, 1954 in Painesville, Ohio where she spent much of her life with her family and children before moving to Tennessee.
Her creative talents often led her to a career in floral design. She had many passions including crafting, sewing, painting, cooking, horses, and gardening. As an avid sports fan, you would find her cheering for The Chicago Bears, Tennessee Vols, and the Cleveland Indians. Swinging clubs on a golf course was a hobby she enjoyed learning especially after working at Dorchester Golf Course.
She was a proud mother to her four children, who she loved to go visit and spend time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Mimi”.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Jim and Barbara Long, many special relatives, and her precious dogs Roo and Penny.
Meryl is survived by her loving companion of 9 years, Richard Hampton; her children-Shanna (Matt), Lissa (Kale), Bradon (Nicole), Trevor (Josie); her grandchildren-Preston, Emma, Ally, Kullyn, David, and Zoe; her brother Barry (Donna).
A small ceremony for family and close friends will be held on November 2, 2024 in Crossville, Tennessee.
My condolences to Meryl’s family and friends. I will be thinking and praying for you all.
Meryl was one of the sweetest people. She was so welcoming to me when my family moved cross country and I felt scared and nervous to be the new girl at age 16. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
