Ramon Comodore Mendoza was born in Santa Barbara, CA on October 20, 1957. He died in Jamestown, TN on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Most of his working career was in the food service industry in the hospital and in his leisure time he enjoyed working on computers and was passionate about writing. He aspired to be a journalist but found it to not be “in the cards” for his life. Comodore was a fun loving guy and enjoyed being around children and animals. He met his companion, Laquita Jack, in New Jersey and moved to Tennessee in 2004 where he worked for Micro Metals in Jamestown. In moving to the farm, he and Laquita became nature lovers with hummingbirds as his passion. He managed as much as 35 hummingbirds during a season. He also enjoyed watching movies with Laquita and the Amazing Race and Survivor were his favorite reality shows to follow. Com watched sports with football as his favorite. He was an avid Cowboy fan and he and Laquita enjoyed the competition with each other of choosing who would win the weekly games.
He is survived by his companion, Laquita Jack; and brothers Richard Dennis Mendoza with wife, Beth, and niece, Adriana Margaret from Los Angeles, CA and Russell Lee Mendoza from Santa Barbara, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Mendoza and Margaret Herrera Mendoza
Com was a good friend and companion to my sister, Laquita. They spent many happy hours with their hummingbirds and in their garden after moving to Grimsley. He was a good person and will be missed dearly. To the Mendoza family, I am sorry for your loss. Laquita, I will always be here for you.
Jean,
Thank you so much for sharing the life of my nephew you knew with your sister. Com always had a giving heart … and a smile on his face.
Commodore was a great person, very kind and witty, and always willing to help anyone that he could. He was a good cook and he loved to cook for his friends. He is sadly missed. We will miss all his jokes, and his love for animals.
You had that unique laugh that I will miss and just like your Dad (my hermano) a true Dallas Cowboy fan.
I can’t believe you are gone …. Dug out the picture from the reunion in Plainview ’92 with our crazy self, you, me and Ricky Dennis. I love you ….. and will miss you!!
