Richard E. Johnson, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in Crossville, TN at Cumberland Medical Center. He was a Fire Lieutenant (Hialeah Fire Department, FL), Juvenile Officer (Cumberland County, TN), Reserve Sheriff Deputy, (Cumberland County, TN), farmer, “Mr. Fix-It” and beloved father, grandfather, and friend.

Richard was born on January 1, 1931, in Orange County, IN to Albert and Bertha Johnson. He was survived by his wife Grace Mynatt Johnson, and his children Larry Johnson of Conyers, GA (wife Sylvia), Raymond Johnson of Fayetteville, NC (wife Angela), Timothy Johnson of Zephyrills, FL (wife Debbie), and Sandra Johnson Burgess of Palmetto, FL (husband Greg), two stepchildren, Cindy Murray Harper of Hagerstown, IN (husband Jim), and Mark Murray of Murfreesboro, TN. Richard has 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was survived by sister, Pauline Leavens of Grayville, IL and brother, Floyd Johnson of Bidwell, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

On Friday, December 18, 2015 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, visitation for Richard will be held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, 2653 N. Main St. Crossville, TN 38555, with a service being held at Crossville Memorial on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00am.

On Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, visitation for Richard will also be held at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home, 187 East Jefferson St. Orleans, IN 47452 with a graveside service immediately following at Bethel Cemetery in Orleans, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Bethlehem Baptist Church Youth Department Fund, Crossville, TN and/or Cumberland Children’s Center House of Hope, Crossville, TN.
