Red Rowan, age 88, was born in Nashville, TN on April 8, 1927 to James and Bess Rowan, and passed away in Crossville, TN on June 3, 2015. He worked commercially as a plumber and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an artist and enjoyed dancing, landscaping and gardening.
Red is survived by his sons- Dennis Rowan (Patty), Kelly Rowan (Jan), Andrew Rowan (Lisa) and Mitchell Rowan (Alfie); grandchildren- Chris, Graham, Rachel, Casey, Brock, Bryce, Austin, and Jackson; great grandchildren- Izyk and Hunter; brother- Harry; and sisters- Sara, Annette, JoEllen, Shelia, and Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents- James L. Rowan and Bess Brien Rowan; wife- Edna Leota Nicely Rowan; sister- Colleen; and brothers- Don and Jimmy.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 Eastern Standard Time in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 East Adams St. Crossville, TN 38555.
