Joseph Sapp

Joseph T. Sapp, age 67, was born on February 27, 1954 to Frank and Lillian Bolin Sapp in Crossville, TN and passed away on April 2, 2021 in Crossville, TN. He was a truck driver that enjoyed gardening and visiting with family. He was a member of Zion Hill The Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children- John and Joseph Sapp and 4 grandchildren, brother- Robert Sapp of Washington State, and sisters- Helen Moore of Las Vegas, NV, Ila Dalziel of Washington State, Millie Nichols of Crossville, TN, Opal McCoy of Crossville, TN, and Connie Melhorn of Knoxville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents- Frank and Lillian Bolin Sapp and siblings- Iva Scarbrough, Virginia Cox, Leamon Sapp, Della Lathem, Nathanael Sapp, David Sapp, and James Sapp.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. They will meet at Thomas Springs Cemetery on Wednesday, April 7, at 2:00 pm for a graveside service.

Loretta Ann Sherrill

Funeral services for Loretta Ann Sherrill, age 76, of Crossville, TN will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 4:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 4.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Sherrill; daughters, Susan Freitag (Alan) and Vicki Jones (Chris); grandchildren, Colton, Brooke, Rylie, Matthew, and Ethan; and siblings, Jim Young, Charles Young, Roger Young, Robert Young, David Young, and Evelyn Gunter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Veachel Poston Young; and siblings, Rita Walker and Carolyn Young.

Kimberly Renee Branim

Kimberly Renee Branim, age 50, was born on June 11, 1970 to Mary Cox Ramsey in Anderson, Indiana. She passed away on March 20, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio.

She is survived by her mother; husband, Anthony Branim; father, Danny Ramsey; children, Angelique Jones (Robert), Jonathan Branim, Jacob Branim (Alisha Trimbach), and Kayla Martin (Gage); grandson, Niko Jones; grandmother, Mabel Cox; siblings, Kelley Donahue (Mike) and Clifford Huffman (Angie); and nieces and nephews, Malea, Elijah, Seth, Steven, Solomon, Sarayah, Michael, Danika, and Joey.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, James Cox and Henry and Dolly Ramsey; and great grandmother, Ethel Huffman.

Funeral services for Kimberly will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 3:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Ron Dyer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crossville City Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00.

Karen Sue Shepherd

Karen Sue Shepherd, age 76, was born on April 29, 1944 in Crossville, TN and passed away on March 19, 2021.

She is survived by her husband, Junior Shepherd; children, Johnnie Shepherd, Mike Shepherd (Debbie), Billy Shepherd, and Cathy Shepherd; grandchildren, Phillip Ray Shepherd, Annette Shepherd, Jason Shepherd, Josh Shepherd, Cody Shepherd, and Kayla Sherrill; and great grandchildren, Alyssa Shepherd, Adalyn Shepherd, Nathan Shepherd, Paisley Shepherd, and Jordan Shepherd.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Royce Cox and Christene Hyder; and son, Bobby Shepherd.

Funeral services for Karen will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 2:00 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Hyder Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12 to 2.

Arthur Earl Webb “Buck”

Arthur Earl Webb “Buck”, age 90, was born on November 7, 1930 to Clyde and Myrtle Kerley Webb in Crossville, TN. He passed away on March 18, 2021. Buck worked as a mechanic all his life, and he loved to work.

He is survived by his children, Charlie (Pam) Green, Clyde Shane Webb (Tammy Chambers), Lisa Starkley (Jan), and Dusty Webb (Karen); grandchildren, Lauren Victoria Huff (Joshua), Julia Christine Martin (Ronnie), Kyle Webb, and Lindsey Webb; great grandchildren, Briggs Huff and Collins Huff; and siblings, John Webb, Louise Mullinax, Raymond Webb, Lilly Newcomb, and Carl Webb.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Webb; and sister, Ruth Kerley.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 12 to 2 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service for Buck will also be held on Tuesday following visitation with Pastor Scott White officiating.

Emogene Keyes Teeple

“An awesome teacher is hard to find, difficult to part with, and impossible to forget.”

Emogene Keyes Teeple, 91, was born on January 21, 1930 to the late Columbus and Erma Keyes in Crossville, TN and passed away on March 18, 2021.

Mrs. Teeple was a Godly lady that loved her family and was a pioneer in the field of education. She highly valued learning and was an alumni of both Carson Newman and Tennessee Technological University and a member of the Cumberland County High School Hall of Fame.  Along with her years of teaching experience, including being the supervisor of K-6 instruction in Cumberland County, she paved the path for organized kindergarten.  Before kindergarten was established in the 60s, Mrs. Teeple designed and taught her own kindergarten.  Her heart had no limits, and she touched the lives of countless children in Cumberland County.

For 30 years, she was the clerk for the Cumberland Baptist Association, and taught Sunday school for over 60 years.  A founder of Revolution Church, Mrs. Teeple’s selfless kind nature was always evident. She will be greatly remembered for sending birthday cards to everyone at church, and if you were a child, she would always tuck a $5 bill into the card at her own expense.

If you asked her what her greatest accomplishment in life was, she would always say her family.  She is survived by her sons John (Ilene) Teeple, Mark Teeple, and Stephen (Vanessa) Teeple.  Grandchildren John (Kirsten) Teeple, Daniel Teeple, Rebekah Teeple Hazelwood (Xane), Dalton Teeple and Ella Mitchell.  Great Grandson Jonah Teeple.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 38 years Tilbert Teeple and brothers Gordon Keyes and Wayne Keyes.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Josh Cardwell officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Pallbearers will be John Teeple, Daniel Teeple, Dalton Teeple, Xane Hazelwood, Daniel Keyes and David Keyes.

John Robert Lambert

John Robert Lambert, age 84, of Crossville was born on February 5, 1937 to Beecher Hunter Lambert and Mollie Mae (Davis) Lambert in Sparta, TN. He passed away on March 15, 2021. He worked for Kroger Co. for 30 years and served in the Army for two years. He retired from Kroger in 1977 and returned to Tennessee. He owned his own businesses here in Crossville. He loved farming, fishing, and hunting. He was a great man and will be missed and loved forever.

He is survived by his wife, Bobby Sherwood Lambert; daughter, Robin Griffin and son-in-law, Scott Griffin of Crossville; son, Donnie Lambert (Barbara), of Sparta; sister, Thelma Pippin (Kenneth) of Sparta, and nephew, Dr. Greg Pippin; son, Hobie Young of Michigan, and special friend, thought of as a daughter, Henrietta (Jr.) Kerley of Crossville; grandsons, Brandon and Brent Griffin, his “little buddies” who were the love of his life, Christopher Lee Young (Bobbie Sue), Amanda Young (Andrew Tripp) of Michigan, Ashley Hengesbaugh (Lance) of Washington State, and Haley Clouse Lindsey. He loved all his grandchildren so much. Great grandchildren, Kailee Young, Myah Rae Moore, Rylee Dean, Emilee Dean, Nova Lee Tripp, Tyler Young, Torrie Leann Young, Lincoln Hengesbaugh, and Josie Lindsey.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Lois Lambert of Sparta and son, Omer Lee Young of Michigan, along with his parents.

Lawrence Neal Prediger

Lawrence Neal Prediger, age 81, was born on October 2, 1939 to the late Richard and Katherine Hulley Prediger in East Grand Rapids, MI and passed away on March 15, 2021 in Fairfield Glade, TN. He worked for Frigidaire for 35 years, was an avid golfer, and sang in the church choir all his life.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheri Prediger; sons, Chris (Renee) and Wes Prediger; grandchildren, Bethany (Ben) Peppers, and Ella and Lucy Prediger; and great grandson, Colton Peppers.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Central Baptist Church from 3:00 – 4:00. A memorial service for Lawrence will also be held on Sunday following visitation with Roland Smith officiating.

Vance Ray Southall

Vance Ray Southall, 74, passed away in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, following an extended illness on March 16, 2021.  He was born May 5, 1946 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Cortez Southall and Chloe (Paulson) Southall.  Surviving is his Wife, Kay (Koppy) Southall and Brother, David Southall.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service.  His kind and gentle manner will always be remembered.

Earl Davis Phipps

Earl Davis Phipps, born July 20, 1930, joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Phipps and grandsons, Matthew Loyd and Caleb Dorer.

His surviving family includes son, Alan Dale Phipps and daughter-in-law, Janice Phipps of Ardmore, TN, daughter, Sonia Lynne Dorer and son-in-law, Richard Dorer of Mount Juliet, TN, grandchildren, Kellie Barron of Athens, AL, Nikki Parmer of St. Jo, MO, Charles (Charlie) Davis Dorer of Lebanon, TN, and brother, Ernest Phipps of Mount Juliet, TN.

Earl was born and raised in Crossville. He moved around the country for work, however, upon his retirement he returned to his home in Crossville, Tennessee. One more move was to Mount Juliet, TN to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

He chose cremation, however, there will be a celebration of life memorial at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on March 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Later, his urn will be placed at Woody Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Joyce. Please come and help us celebrate Earl’s life, and most importantly, his life in his new heavenly body as he finds comfort in Jesus’ arms.
