Judith Lynn Gayhart

Judy Lynn Gayhart Thompson, age 69, of Crossville, TN went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2022.

She was born in Hazard, KY on October 4, 1952 to Irvine and Geneva Gayhart.

She is survived by her husband Bo Charles Thompson; sister Sonja (Joel) Carter (TN); stepson Wayne (Sharlotte) Thompson (FL); step daughter Belinda Odom (TN); daughter in law Sarah Cook (OH); niece Robin Rogers (OH); nephews Randy Goldberg (TN), Charles Gayhart (KY), and Johnny Gayhart (KY); also, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was a child of Christ who attended Church of Christ in Crossville. She loved her family, friends, and her fur baby Gizmo.

She enjoyed reading, loved humming bird season and her flower gardens, and also listening to her wind chimes.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Sim & Tishie Gayhart and John & Florence Utley; parents Irvin and Geneva Utley Gayhart; siblings Jerrie Combs, Charles Gayhart, and Josiah Gayhart; and children Pamela Cook, Shannon Cook, and Joey Thompson.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with the service immediately following at 3:00pm.

Reves Wayne Myers

Reves Wayne Myers, 81, passed away March 7, 2022 at Hospice of Cumberland County in Crossville, Tennessee.

Wayne was born on October 11, 1940, the son of the late Reves and Effie (Taber) Myers.  His sister,  Nancy (Bill) Schaefer also preceded him in death.

In addition to his beloved wife Jean of Crossville, TN, he is also survived by his stepchildren Vicki (Stan) Hitchcock, Mike (Pat) Rankin, and Ricky (Sheila) Rankin; five step-grandchildren Charity (Mark) Evans, Dr. Matthew (Kathleen) Hitchcock, Jonathan Rankin, Joshua Rankin, and Ansley (TJ) Lewis; eight step-great-grandchildren Tyson, Ivy, Caleb, Anna Grace, Patrick, Maeve, Adler, and Jackson.

Wayne is survived by three brothers Ray (Debbie) Myers, David (Kathy) Myers, and Joseph Byron Myers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to working 30 years at the Crossville rubber plant, Wayne also enjoyed woodworking and fishing. An accomplished artist, he loved drawing pictures for the grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. His greatest pleasure, however, was studying his Bible and worshipping his Lord.

Julie Ann Martin

Julie Martin, age 62, was born on August 17, 1959 to Jimmy and Francis Whittaker in Dayton, OH. She passed away on March 6, 2022 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her husband Tommy Martin; mother Francis Bryant; children Christie (Scottie) Lenz, Jessica (Jerry) Bilbrey, and Josh (Brandy) Martin; grandchildren Nicholas & Colton Lenz, Sean, Justin, & Matthew Bilbrey, and Brandon, Jordan, & Kandice Collins; sister Reba Robbins; brothers and half-brother James Edward, Billy, and James Author Whittaker.

She was preceded in death by her father Jimmy Whittaker; sister Diane Phillips; and half-sister Janice Lane.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with the service immediately following at 7:00pm.

Carolyn Sue Howard

Carolyn Sue Howard, age 60, was born on February 12, 1962 to Alfred and Virginia Blaylock in Crossville, TN. She passed away on March 2, 2022.

She is survived by her husband Buddy Howard; children Christopher (Britteny) Howard and Rodney (Megan) Howard; grandchildren Austen, Jayda, Laila, Launa, and Mia; sisters Glenda Maynard and Connie (Gary) Bowman; niece Cheryal Nicole Dabbs; and nephew Trevis Maynard.

She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred Linvil and Virginia Lee Parsons Blaylock.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm with the service to follow at 2:00pm. She will be buried in Creston Cemetery immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be Curt White, Enois Sharp, Ed Beddow, Charles Dickson, Carl Norris, Lonnie Shape, and Gary Bowman.

Carol Ellen Heath

Carol Ellen Heath, 77, of Fairfield Glade, TN, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 5, 2021. She was born on April 4, 1944 to Peter and Alice Korman.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Robert Heath; stepsons Jeffry (Jennifer) Heath and Dominick (Colleen) Heath; three grandchildren Brooklyn, Carter, and Harper from Michigan; and sister Diana (Jon) Hall. Carol also has additional relatives in Michigan, Canada, and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Shari White; sister Betty Brown; and nephew Michael Brown.

Carol was born and raised in Madison Heights, Michigan, and graduated from Madison High in 1962. After high school she taught cosmetology. She began a new career a few years later when she began working for General Motors Powertrain Group, Cadillac Division. She retired from General Motors in 2001.

Carol and Robert moved to Fairfield Glade, TN in 2002. Carol decided that a part time job was what she wanted to do and began working as a receptionist for Gwin Realty, where she continued to do so for 3 years.

Carol had many interests that she enjoyed. She was involved in card making, enjoyed playing golf and pickleball, as well as traveling. She was a skilled photographer and she received several Blue Ribbons for her efforts. She was always looking for other interests to get involved with. She belonged to a number of organizations over the years, including Red Hats, Stamping Club, Ladies Club, Neighbors and Newcomers, golf groups, and was an usher at The Playhouse for several years.

Carol loved the church and was very active in many ways. She was an elder, served on various committees, and worked part time as a volunteer secretary for the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Glade.

Carol was deeply loved by her family. We will miss her dearly and we look forward to the day we are reunited in Heaven.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 10:00am at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Glade.

Michael Lee Kerley

Michael Kerley, age 61, was born on March 31, 1960 to Arnold and Lois Kerley in Crossville, TN. He passed away on February 28, 2022 in Cookeville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lois Marie Guinn Kerley.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:00am in Leffle Webb Cemetery.

Lillian Elaine Newby Freytag

Lillian Freytag, age 99, was born on August 22, 1922 in Kentucky and passed away February 16, 2022 in Cumberland County Tennessee.

She retired from Bell South in Orlando, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bill and Minnie Pearl Wise Newby; brother Joseph Bill Newby; and her husband of 54 years, John David “J.D.” Freytag.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Newby, of Danville, KY; her daughter, Jo Nell Freytag Davis and husband Edward; granddaughter Laura Scott; grandson John Russell “Rusty” Scott and wife Shelly; great granddaughters, Andrea Turk and fiancĂ© Russell Lombardi, Samantha Perkins and husband Tim; and great great grandson Peyton Perkins.

Caryl Rae Shugars

Caryl Shugars, age 96, was born on July 11, 1925 to Raymond and Florence Arborgast Van Alstyne in Jamaica, NY. She passed away at her home on February 19, 2022 in Crossville, TN.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Laudadio.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Diane Lynn Donald

Diane Donald, age 77, was born on May 10, 1944 to Roy and Thelma Rosenbrock in Lake Orion, MI. She passed away at her home on February 19, 2022 in Jamestown, TN.

She She is survived by her son Dennis Donald.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Ricky Lawson

Ricky Lawson, age 64, of Crossville, TN was born on May 6, 1957 to Willard and Ruby Lawson and went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gladys Lawson; daughters- Jessica and husband David Muzia, and Jennifer and boyfriend Erick Bell; one precious grandson, Newt; brother- Hubert Lawson of Wabeno, Wisconsin; sister- Becky Fields of Crossville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents- Willard and Ruby Lawson; brothers- Arnold, James, Billy, Buford, Jim, and Shorty Lawson; and sisters- Mildred Angel, Bonnie Brewer, and JoAnn Brewer.

Ricky was a man who never met a stranger and was a great friend to all, selfless, loving and caring. He loved his wife and best friend, Gladys, faithfully and unconditionally and his children and grandchild fiercely. He was a family man, a great provider, and a hard worker. He leaves behind a legacy of honesty, kindness, and pure love. He left something in the hearts and lives of all that knew him. He passed from this world with the love of his life holding his hand.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home at 1:00pm and will be buried at Akins Cemetery immediately following the service.
