Dwight Woody, age 47, was born on June 18, 1974 to Justin and Debbie Woody in Crossville, TN. He battled very courageously for a little over a year with leukemia and passed away on April 4, 2022.
Dwight is survived by his parents Justin H. and Debbie Lynn McDonald Woody; brother Nick Woody; and daughter Candice. Candice was his greatest joy in life and he was very proud of her.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11a-12p with the service to follow at 12p. He will be buried in Creston Cemetery immediately following the service.
Betty Sherrill, age 87, was born on March 21, 1935 to Alice Redwine in Crab Orchard, TN. She passed away at her home in Crossville, TN on April 2, 2022.
She is survived by her children Shelia (Clark Beaty, Donna Hurst, Alvin (Annette) Sherrill, and Mark Sherrill; grandchildren Crystal and Tammy Beaty along with 3 step grandchildren; and great grandchildren Mia Beaty and Allison and Austin Henry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Howard Redwine, William Redwine, and Ann Trimble; and her son-in-law Thomas Hurst.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1p-3p with the service at 3p. She will be buried in Battown Cemetery in Crab Orchard, TN immediately following the service.
Danny Burnett, age 70, was born on September 26, 1951 to Joe and Stella Burnett in Crossville, TN. He passed away on March 29, 2022.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Burnett; children Joey (Sheri) Burnett, Brian Burnett, Brandon Burnett, and Major Burnett; grandchildren Braylon, Rylan, and Kellen Burnett; siblings Dallas Ray, Fran Young, Melissa Chandler, Terry Burnett, and Tim Burnett.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stella Madge Hembree Burnett and Joe Allen Burnett; grandparents Fannie Hedgecoth Burnett and Herman Burnett; and his daughter Tara Burnett.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from from 3-5pm with the service immediately following at 5pm. His final resting place will be in Hedgecoth Cemetery at a later date.
Shelby Hall, age 82, was born to Hassel Dave and Celia Bernice Sherrill Beaty on June 28, 1939 and passed away on April 2, 2022 in her hometown of Crossville, TN.
She is survived by her children Doris Phillips and Tony (Tammy) Hall; grandchildren Tyler Hall, Sheena (Devin) Phillips, Presley (Nathan) Nester, Toni Lynn (Justin) Hall, Destiny (Leland) Hild, and Dustin (Ashton) Dishman; and great grandchildren Max, Branson, Paisley, Slade, Parker, Kylee, Pierce, and Asher.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Hall, and her brother Larry Beaty.
Byron W Buell, 84, passed away January 30, 2022, at Cumberland Medical Center.
He was born in Highland Park, Michigan. At age eleven his family moved to Jordan, New York. Byron participated in Boy Scouts of America Troop #57, church activities, photography development, varsity basketball team, and was president of his high school graduating class. Byron joined the Navy ROTC while attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the School for Mechanical Engineering.
Byron married Barbara in 1959 and their daughter Catherine was born at the Newport, Rhode Island Naval Hospital while he was on a six-month deployment in the Mediterranean. Following active duty in the Navy, the Buells moved to Rochester, New York where Byron worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 30 years. He developed two cameras and managed a camera assembly plant in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico for over two years. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology night school and received an MBA. Byron joined a Naval Reserve Unit supporting the Office of Naval Research and Naval Research Laboratory and retired as Captain Buell in 1984.
In 2005, he and Barbara moved to Fairfield Glade. Byron participated in many volunteer activities: Peavine Care Center, Habitat for Humanity, Cumberland County Playhouse, Lion’s Club (vision screening), Fairfield Glade Community Church Choir and Men’s Fellowship. His hobbies included: photography, biking and hiking.
Byron is survived by his daughter, Catherine Buell; and brother, Paul Buell (JoAnn). He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Wannetta Buell; and his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Buell.
A memorial service and celebration of Byron’s life will be held this Spring at Fairfield Glade Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Byron may be made to Fairfield Glade Community Church, Fairfield Glade Lions Club, Cumberland County Playhouse, Habitat for Humanity, or charity of the donor’s choice.
Laura Brannum, age 57, was born on February 2, 1965 to Delmer and Gladys Brannum in Livingston, TN. She passed away on March 27, 2022 in Cookeville, TN.
She is survived by her daughter Rachael (Shawn) Bryant; grandkids Julius Magdaleno, Josiah Walker, and Jaelyn Walker; sisters Phyllis Copeland, Sharon Bolin, Cynthia Kennedy, and Georgia (Doug) Walker; brothers Malcolm (Debbie) Brannum, Delmer ‘Buddy’ Brannum Jr, Jimmy Brannum, and Chris (Robin) Brannum.
She was preceded in death by her parents Delmer Brannum and Gladys ‘Doodie’ Flowers Brannum; sisters Carol Winningham, Martha Thomas, and Darlene Davis; and brother David Brannum.

Ethan Alle, age 77, was born on July 5, 1944 to Eugene and Eva Allen in Muncie, Indiana. He passed away on March 10, 2022 in Crossville, TN.
He is survived by his children Randy Dixon, Larry Allen, Debbra (Donnie) Burgess, Ethan (Alicia) Allen, Dean Allen, Dawn (DeWayne) Fast, and Harold Allen; 24 Grandchildren; 16 Great grandchildren; sister Judy (Terry) Fisher; and brother Robert (Karen) Allen.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene Sheldon and Eva Wanita Clevenger Allen; sisters Phyllis H Gum, Betty J Akers, Lois J Pennington, and Janet S Patch; brother Jack E Allen; and child Christian M Allen.

Danny Lynn Brown passed away on March 18, 2022 at the age of 59 in his hometown of Crossville, TN. He was a resident of the Big Lick Community. His date of birth was April 1, 1962.
Danny is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, Rachel Converse and Jonathan, Larry Brown and Adrian, Sarah Franz and Kyle. His 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Emma and Oakley. His sister and brother and their spouses, Charlotte Lockwood and Jim, Tony Brown and Lynne. He is survived by many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dellie Brown and Father, John Brown. Also, his baby brother, Larry Brown.
Danny spent many years working as a car mechanic and rock quarry owner. He loved stock car racing and was a talented carpenter. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 12:30 to 2 with the service to follow. Bro. Gary Brown will officiate and burial will be in Music Cemetery.
David M. Brass, age 67, was born May 24, 1954 to Charles Robert and Onita Marie Wray Brass in Kokomo, IN and passed away on March 16, 2022 in Crossville, TN. He was a vinyl siding installer and owned Brass Vinyl Exteriors. He enjoyed working on electronics in his free time, and attended Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church where he loved being the door greeter.
He is survived by his wife- Jimmie Mae Brass; sons- Jason Hunter (Sara), Chris Johnson (Lorraine), and James Johnson (April); daughter- Lisa Johnson and special daughter- April Cox; grandchildren- Heath Johnson, Dakota Kennedy, Kelsey Evans, Emily Hunter, Michael Johnson, Triston and Tyson Sheffield; eight great grandchildren, siblings- Richard Brass (Irene), John Brass (Nina) and Charlotte Porter, a host of nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Henry. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Lucas Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 on March 19, 2022 at Crossville First Freewill Baptist Church with funeral service to follow. Bro. Randy Maynard and Bro. Mike McCoy will officiate and burial will be in Sand Springs Cemetery.
Bill Coons passed away on March 4, 2022 after battling a long illness. He was a soft-hearted man with a gift of encouragement.
Bill was born on October 19, 1939 to the late Doris and Carroll Coons. His siter Carol Ann also preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his children Eric (Jean) Coons, Jeff (Debbie) Coons, Pam (Shawn) Clark, and step-son Kenneth Neese. He also has 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Bill worked many years as a Mechanical Engineer in Western NY. Upon retiring, he moved to TN where he was able to enjoy his days working in his workshop creating unique pieces to sell at craft shows. He loved playing his banjo, especially when praising the Lord. Bill also loved helping people with their computer issues. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
