Russell Jameson Threet, 11 months, was born on July 28, 2022 to Cody and Mashayla Threet in Crossville, TN and passed away on July 8, 2023 in Crossville.
Russell is survived by his parents Cody Alexander and Mashayla Brooke (Underwood) Threet; siblings Hunter, Kamden, Hensley, and Kyser Threet; grandparents Donald & Tammie Underwood, Tim & Chrissy Threet, and Stacey Simons; great grandmother Norma Threet; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by Earl & Margaret Byers and James Threet.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4pm with the service to follow at 4pm, Don Haston officiating. He will be laid to rest in New Pleasant Hill Cemetery immediately following the service.
Phillip Lee Lamb, age 74, was born on May 9, 1949 in Sparta, TN and passed away in Rhea County on July 3, 2023. He served his country in the Army and enjoyed his job as a truckdriver for Floyd Turner Trucking Co.
He is survived by his companion- Nancy Gibbons and her family and children- Randy, Terri, and William Lamb.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5 to 7 with a Celebration of Life afterward.
Edwin Frederick Wilde Jr., 92, died on July 7, 2023 from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. He was born January 14, 1931 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Edwin F. Wilde Sr. and Carrie Bell (Hammond) Wilde.
A first generation college graduate, Ed graduated with a PhD in mathematics from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois in 1955, where he met his wife Connie Mae (Rawlings) Wilde. Together they celebrated almost 50 years of marriage until her untimely death in 2001. “Dr. Wilde” was a beloved and esteemed math professor and administrator in four different collegian settings: Beloit College (Wisconsin); Roger Williams College (Rhode Island); University of Tampa (Florida); and University of South Carolina Upstate (South Carolina). He always treated his students and fellow faculty members with respect and always endeavored to instill a love of learning both in his work and at home.
Ed loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisher, hiker, gardener, and beekeeper. He was a life-long athlete as a state champion wrestler, regular jogger, and even competed and won events in the SC Track and Field Octogenarian Olympics. Throughout his life, he was a die-hard fan of the Chicago White Sox, and really enjoyed watching their winning season last year. He was a member of Rotary and the Men’s Gardening Club, helped build houses with Habitat for Humanity, and was a founding member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Spartanburg, SC. In quieter moments, you could find him diligently working through the daily crossword and sudoku puzzles, or figuring out how to solve a Rubik’s cube or some other mathematical challenge. He met and married Kathleen Marie (Wright) Wilde on an elder hostel trip hiking, biking, and kayaking, and they enjoyed 15 years of marriage until her passing in 2019.
In addition to his parents and wives, Ed was predeceased by his sister, Sally and son, Brad. He is survived by his brother, Carroll and wife Roxy (Carmel, CA); his son Bruce and wife Karen (Mechanicsville, MD); his daughter Elizabeth and husband Michael (Crossville, TN); seven grandchildren Sarah, Kayla, Trevor, Matthew, Thomas, Anna, and Jackson; and four great grandchildren Parker, Preston, D’asia, and Deon. He also had a bevy of beautiful caregivers in South Carolina (Sophie), New York (Lynda, Marlene, Caroline, Barnaby, and Talisha), and Tennessee (Marie, Lorie, Hannah, Christie, Carol, Holly, Bea, Stefanye, and Vicki) who were kind and caring for him in good days and bad. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and generous man by all who knew him.
A funeral will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Crossville, TN in early August and a service of remembrance will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina on a yet to be determined date. A private interment will follow later at the Turtle Creek Cemetery in Shopiere, Wisconsin. Bruce Kneisler, age 66, was born on September 15, 1956 to Harry and Catherine Kneisler, Sr. in New Orleans, LA and passed away on July 2, 2023 at his home in Crossville, TN.
Bruce loved motorcycle riding, crawfish boils, working in his garage, playing pool, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He had the biggest heart that was open to anyone and everyone in the world and he loved putting a smile on everyone’s face. His door was always open and he would help anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his wife Michele (Boehm) Kniesler; children Bruce Boehm and Lindsey Boehm (Michael Telles); grandchildren Haylee Hollingsworth, Hunter Hollingsworth, Jennavecia Boehm, Jeremiah Telles, and Adrian Telles; and siblings Harry Kneisler, Jr., Debbie Kneisler, and Cathy Lang.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Kneisler, Sr. and Catherine (Flake) Kneisler; and brother Ricky Kneisler.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm with the service to follow at 4pm.
Richard Thomas Glover, age 67, was born on September 2, 1955 to Stanley Richard Glover and Alison Ruth Harper Glover in Plymouth, Massachusetts and passed away on June 30, 2023 in Knoxville, TN. He was a musician and an aircraft mechanic. He was a producer/ song writer and had a band in Florida. He loved playing his guitar. he was a scuba diver and an avid Christian.
Richard is survived by his wife- Lorraine Glover; children- Brandon and Derrick Glover; siblings- Robyn Smith (Donald), Mari-jane Shore (Brian), and Alison Raab (Nick), and mother, Alison Ruth Blongren (Roy). He was preceded in death by his father and siblings- Greta Collins, Roy L. Glover, and Roy Albert Blomgren.
Diana Ledbetter, age 81, was born on January 10,1942 to Tom and Kathryn Day Swafford in Akron, Ohio and passed away on July 1, 2023 in Crossville, TN. She was an insurance administrator and enjoyed flower arranging and designing, singing and music, and cooking and baking. Her favorite enjoyment was her grandbabies and great grandbabies.
Diana is survived by her children- Bobby Smith, Debbie Smith Green and Richard, and Gina Smith Adams and Lynn; five grand children- John Lansford, Thomas Lansford, Dustin Adams, Kyle Adams, and Caleb Harris; and seven great grand children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Williard Ledbetter, Grand parents- Ty and Emma Swafford, and the grandparents she was raised by- Richard and Beulah Loden Day, and her siblings- Richard Swafford and Linda Swafford.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 11 to 1 with service to follow. Bro. Mark Hall will officiate with burial in Crossville City Cemetery.
Richard Howard Jr., age 31, was born on August 10, 1991 to Richard Howard and April Ford in Anderson, IN and passed away on June 26, 2023 in Crossville, TN.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing video games, but most of all, he loved his kids.
He is survived by his parents Richard Howard and April Ford; children Abigail Haney, Dalton Howard, Jordan Howard, Trae Howard, Colbie Howard, and Aubrey Howard; best friend Erica Shipwash; and siblings Sandra Howard, Brian Dayton, and Isabella Ritzko.
Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Katelynn Howard.
Gary Lynn Rogers, age 63, was born on February 12, 1960 with his twin, Larry Rogers, to the late George and Sibyl Rogers, in Crossville, TN. Gary passed away at CMC on June 25, 2023. He attended Cumberland Fellowship with his wife and family. Gary was a proud Sergeant in the United States Army Signal Corps. After serving in the Army he successfully pursued his passion as a draftsman/engineer. He enjoyed his many years at Crossville Inc. in the Engineering Department and the many lifelong friendships made throughout the company. He especially had a heart for teaching. As the Drafting Instructor at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, he touched many lives with his mentorship, leadership, skills, and knowledge of the industry.
Gary was a family man and enjoyed his time spent with the love of his life, Vera. They were high school sweethearts, and if you ever saw one, you always saw the other. They truly spent their 44 years of marriage by each other’s side. His favorite thing in life was being surrounded by his family no matter where they were, just as long as they were all together. He was so proud of his family. He was rich in love. He wore many hats in his life, but “Daddy” and “Papa” were his favorites. He loved his daughter Desiree and son Gary Jr. with all his heart. He welcomed son-in-law Rodney and daughter-in-law Anne Marie into his family with open arms, and he always felt like he won the lottery with the blessings of his 3 grandchildren, Audrey, Garrison, and Alexander. He loved his family and they loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vera Rogers, daughter Vera Desiree Wellman (Rodney), son Gary Lynn Rogers Jr (Anne Marie), granddaughter Audrey Wellman, and grandsons Gary Lynn Rogers III “Garrison” and Alexander Rogers.
He is also survived by his siblings Bob Bell of Cookeville, TN, Jim (Cindy) Rogers of Collinsville, AL, Tom Rogers of Wartburg, TN, Tammie (Randall) Dye of Crossville, TN, brothers-in-law Alan Patton and Harvey Patton both of Crossville, TN, sister-in-law Anita Rogers of Dallas, GA, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry Rogers, and sisters Kathy Patton and Debbie Patton, sisters-in-law Pat Bell, Claudine Rogers, and Debbie Bell.
Pallbearers will be nephews Toby Patton, Christopher Marsh, Willie Patton, Josh Dye, Justin Dye, and Andrew Wright, with Honorary Pallbearers grandsons Garrison and Alexander Rogers.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7pm with the service immediately following at 7pm, brother-in-law Eddie Frady officiating. Burial procession will start at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home at 11am on Friday, June 30, 2023. Burial will be at 12pm Hales Chapel Cemetery.
Gary never knew a stranger and genuinely loved everyone he met.
Michael Miller, age 25, was born on June 9, 1998 to Robert and Amy Miller in Crossville, TN and passed away on June 16, 2023 in Crossville, TN.
Michael loved riding motorcycles and shooting guns. He enjoyed playing softball, disc golf, and other games with his brothers. And he also enjoyed working in the shop with his dad.
He is survived by his wife Camie Grace (Threet) Miller; parents Robert Craig and Amy Beth (Johnson) Miller; parents-in-law Keith and Cheryl Threet; brothers Aaron (Amy) Miller and Jeremy (Abigail) Miller; sister-in-law Karli Threet (TJ Guffey); aunts and uncles Dawn (Scott) Whitehead, Kelly (Michael) Rice, Sharon (Paul) Meinerding, and Jim (Pam) Miller; and grandparents Floyd and Beth Johnson.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Martha Miller.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm, with the service to follow at 2pm, Pastor Terry May officiating.
John E. Lockwood, age 70, was born December 16, 1952, to the parents Elisha L Lockwood and Zdenka Z Lockwood in Sparta, Tennessee.
John’s life was filled with years of happiness and generosity – a career at Carter Avery Dennison, the tradition of farming and raising chickens, and hunting especially, “coon hunting”. Horse-shoe pitching gave him many hours of pleasure winning trophies at the local and state competition. Along the way he recognized the value of his religion and very much appreciated the local friends and families of the Baptist Church.
John is the third of four children, was raised in the Sparta/Crossville area, and graduated from Cumberland County High School. John is survived by two sisters: Famey Lanora Lockwood and Rose Anna Pietrogallo, two nieces: Ashlara Austin Gibby and Teresa Ann Lawson, six great nieces and nephews, and one great-great-niece. Family members who have preceded him in death: parents; sister: Zdenka L Austin; nephew: Ashley Burg.
Knowing the rewards of freedom, John proudly served in the National Guard, Vietnam era continuing the lineage of a military family – from his Father who served in WWII, Famey Lanora who served in the Air Force, Vietnam era to the newest family member, a Marine, nephew Simeon Remsen.
John made the transition back to the Heavens above on June 8, 2023. He was in the company of a life-long friend and his newest friend; both appreciating his humor and jokes.
John, his family and friends thank the Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Professionals who provided healthcare to him for many years.
The Graveside service will be held at New Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 2:00pm.
